Performance

Wesley is an Honours Graduate from Toronto’s renowned Humber College Jazz Program, where he studied extensively with some of Canada’s great musicians such as Ted Quinlan, Toni Zorzi, Terry Promane, and Al Kay. Combined with his Classical studies at the RCM, and his vast playing experience, Wesley is an extremely versatile guitarist. In 2001/2002 Wesley composed and recorded an acoustic fingerstyle piece for a Federal Government (HRDC) program CD-Rom and website. He has worked on a number of projects based heavily in Acid Jazz, Electronica, and R & B, including his work with Montreal artist, Dana Edmonds. From 2000-2003, Wesley was highly regarded in the Reggae/Ska scene, which led him to compose, co-produce, and record 4 songs for the Toronto Rocksteady/Reggae band, Rah-Style. In 2007 he composed and produced orignal music for the Canadian documentary "Maple Flavour Films". Wesley currently runs Groovessentials with his wife Robyn, who is the lead vocalist of this 5-piece wedding/special events band, specialising in Funk, Disco, R & B, Country, Pop, Rock, Jazz, and more. As well, Wesley and Robyn perform Jazz, R & B, Pop, and Latin music in their duo, Groovy on the Side. At the present time, Wesley and Robyn live in Burlington where they are working on original material for release in the United Kingdom.
